Youth Involvement Program (YIPs) – Ages 13–17 & 18-25
Surf Life Saving offers young people the opportunity to build lifelong friendships, develop valuable life skills, gain nationally recognised qualifications, and make a real difference in their community.
The Youth Involvement Program (YIPs) is designed for members aged 13–25, creating opportunities to connect, grow, and get the most out of their Surf Life Saving journey. To ensure every member has access to experiences that are relevant to their stage of life, YIPs is delivered across two tailored age groups:
🌊 YIPs | 13–17 Years
Focused on building confidence, friendships, participation, and leadership through age-appropriate social events, development opportunities, training, and club activities.
🌊 YIPs | 18–25 Years
Focused on leadership, mentoring, networking, volunteer opportunities, and supporting young adults as they transition into senior roles within the club and the wider Surf Life Saving movement.
Across both streams, members can take part in social events, leadership initiatives, community partnerships, fundraising projects, training pathways, and volunteer opportunities, all designed to help young people develop confidence, create lasting connections, and make a positive impact both on and off the beach.
Whether you’re looking to make new friends, challenge yourself, give back to the community, or take the next step in your Surf Life Saving journey, YIPs has something for everyone.
